Beyond excellent where it’s good, a disappointing failure where it’s not.
This headset was finally the straw that made me wish with all my wee little heart that we’d had VR capabilities for Tears of the Kingdom like we had with Breath of the Wild.Sure, the resolution was a bit low, low enough that parts of the game might’ve been difficult to play. But that, honestly, doesn’t bother me because I’d grown up playing games with much lower resolution than this. But, being able to fly through the sky islands, sail through the storms, ride on the backs of dragons, all in VR… it would have been truly epic. The fact that the speakers on the OLED switch are right in front of your ears and aimed directly at them doubles the immersion. Such a lost opportunity. The main thing to make me feel this way is that these VR Goggles are adjustable. The focus (lens depth) for each lens is independently adjustable, whereas the pupillary distance (horizontal space between the lenses) was equal for both sides. It made a MASSIVE change for me to be able to adjust these things. I could comfortably take off my glasses and not have it affect gameplay at all. There IS enough spacing that I could wear my glasses (I normally wear the 98% of the time), but the fact that it was now optional was fantastic. The gasket around the edge of the eyepiece, too, is truly soft and comfortable to wear, and I truly appreciate that there is a space for you to add a charging cable while still wearing the VR Goggles. That said, these VR Goggles do have flaws. The top strap is adjustable but still too short, to the point of being useless. It isn’t designed with a length to accommodate the fact that our heads are not completely flat above our eyebrows. Thankfully it can be simply unbuckled, but this makes the headset less stable and requires you to hold the joy-cons in your hands while attached to the main unit, fatiguing your neck and arms quickly. I’ll probably cut this strap at the back of the head where it joins the horizontal strap and add some more length, so I can use it properly and worry-free.More seriously, the beautiful front plate that secures the Switch into position with a delightful *snap*, thereby making sure it is always adjusted perfectly to center, is not robust enough to support an OLED Switch with its heavy, glass screen. Just picking up the goggles to put them on made the faceplate flex just enough for my Switch slide out and thump onto my desk in front of me. I shudder to think of what would’ve happened if I hadn’t been at my desk. An easy way to solve this would be to add a strap from the top of the faceplate to the top of the main unit.Unfortunately, those issues are severe enough to be showstoppers, depending on your situation. I’m willing to dive right in and mod my VR Goggles, but I’m a craft/tool-handy adult. If you need a gift or something that works right out of the box, this will give the recipient a literal headaches. That said, if you are willing to tinker, I DO recommend this for Switch VR activities!

Decent for a first
This was shipped quickly and packaged very good. This being my first headset for vr has been a good pic but keep in mind it only works with certain games that are vr compatible but at this price couldnt pass it up to give it a try. The build quality of this is better then expected.

Fun Idea but Limiting
This VR headset for Switch looks cool, but overall, you need to make sure you have games that have a VR setting — and there aren’t many of them, making this kind of pricey for the limiting experience. A few of our games have the VR option, so we went ahead and ordered it, but then realized that even those options were limited. For one game, it really only offers a few levels of VR play, and for the other, the experience was dizzying to say the least. The headset itself is kind of heavy once you put the Switch into it, but it has some padding to cushion some of the weighty discomfort. There are three ways to focus the image — each eye has a wheel to turn to help bring the two images together (so you’re not seeing double), and then a third wheel in the center is your focal point, helping to reduce the blur. I was able to get it into focus and into a single image, but your eyes are basically two inches from the screen and it looks a little pixelated. It certainly had a bit of a novelty to it, but after a little while, I felt like I had motion sickness and it was just easier to hold the Switch or put it on my TV. Maybe some of the other games (that we don’t have) offer a better experience (the two we tried were Mario Odyssey and Zelda Breath of the Wild), so I would do some research on how your games will work with these types of headsets before committing to one. Overall, I wouldn’t get this again.

VR Headset for Nintendo Switch
Finally gave this thing a try last night. This was my first time, outside of an arcade setting, that I tried any type of VR headset. The adjustments on this were very intuitive; I had no trouble getting the proper picture whatsoever. The immersive experience at home vs. what I’ve experienced in an arcade are 2 totally different things. It’s a feeling that will definitely take some getting used to. It’s almost disorienting because it’s so clear that you see yourself going in some direction, but you’re obviously not moving at all. It’s a very strange feeling and I feel that reflects very well on the quality of this unit. Highly recommend.

Fits poorly
First of all, this does not feel sturdy when lightened to the head, possibly because the whole thing with a switch attached is just too heavy for comfort. Maybe fine if your lying down, but I wouldn’t want to use this while sitting up. Secondly, it’s too big. Imagine trying to wear goggles designed for a face that’s 3 sizes bigger than yours, and I have a normal sized face. A child wouldn’t be able to use this at all. All and all I cannot recommend this Switch VR headset adapter.

Nice party trick
I honestly did not realize the Switch supported VR until I saw this headset. I ordered it just to test it out, and it is pretty cool. The headset works much like the old Google VR headsets where put the device in VR mode and strap it in. The switch is held securely when strapped in. It does a good job of displaying the image and making it comfortable to wear. I was able to play for a bit before I got tired of the game. The headset itself was find and I could have worn it for much longer with no complaints. The headset does it’s job well, but the VR on the Switch is more of a gimmick than anything.
