Game Changer
If you live in an area where it rains a lot this is a game changer. Can use in the rain, so far has been robust and I have 0 complaints. Using the mounting feet I used some sheet metal screws to mount it to my grill for a permanent device.

Damaged
I received the iteam in a timely manner and the iteam does work. However, it did come bent as you can see in the pictures.

Worked great..
Well youâve heard of The Transformers well this isnât that itâs just a regular one but boy it does do its job well.Needed to drop down to a 12v heating pad for my ducks water in the winter from an outlet. Now my ducks can enjoy their water and I donât have to dump it everyday.

Time warning.
We received the first we ordered within three days. Damaged. But apparently returning it for no fault of our own has caused over a month delay in getting a second. Needed it for Christmas. Thanks.

Wanted a backup for my GMG
Woks as advertised for my GMG pellet smoker.

Output does not appear to be well regulated
Construction and waterproofing seems to be good but output is not a well regulated 12v meaning it drops as load increases. This is fine with certain loads but some with tighter voltage requirements may not work. Running a dc fan or motor should work fine but LEDs may flicker or not light at all.

Works, but voltage a bit lower than expected
While this may adequately power the grills that it’s designed for, results may vary if attempting to use for other purposes; Particularly with higher power devices.Usually a 12v power supply with no load will give a bit over 12 volts (often somewhere around 12.4v) so that it can maintain 12 volts when a load causes voltage drop. In this case, the no-load voltage starts around 11.9v…I assume diodes (or other protective measures in the supply’s circuit) is causing this relatively low start point….Once a small load (only about 500mA) is applied, the voltage dropped to 11.83v…With a 2 amp load, it dropped to about 11.5v…According to my calucations, there’s a resistance of about 0.15 ohms. While I don’t have a load over 2 amps that I can test, applying Ohm’s law would suggest a 5 amp load would lower the voltage to 11.15v, 10 amps would lower to 10.4v and 12.5 amps (max rating given on the supply) would lower to around 10.0 volts. Whether this will work to power your device will depend on how much current the device pulls and how much voltage loss the device can still operate at. For something only pulling up to 2 or 3 amps, this will probably work fine (unless the device is extremely voltage-drop sensitive)…But with higher current devices, this could be more of an issue. I don’t think I would even attempt to get more than 7 or 8 amps out of this supply under most circumstances, for risk of damaging the device or overheating the supply.Speaking of heat, the cover definitely got warm at 2 amps. Not too hot to touch, but noticeably warm. I would imagine it getting quite hot at high amp levels. Being aluminum, I suspect it will get hot in direct sunlight, regardless of load (especially in summer). I’m planning to install in shade to help mitigate this concern. The aluminum shell does seem very sturdy, which is a plus. It survived a light rain this morning with no issues, so the waterproofing seems adequate. Of course, I did keep the 2 plug ends inside protective covers, as the ad says those ends are not waterproof.I loosened the screws on the aluminum shell, but I could not get it apart to view the insides of the supply. Not being able to easily open the shell will make it difficult/impossible to replace any components inside if something goes bad. I was also hoping to replace the cigarette lighter cable with a different style of cable, but not being able to get inside prevented me from doing this. I instead had to resort to connecting a separate adapter to the cigarette lighter plug to make the conversion. It works, but at the cost of taking up more space and adding even more resistance to the circuit.Overall, this supply should work well for what it’s designed for and in many cases, can be used as an outdoor power supply for other purposes. Just make sure you know what you’re doing and don’t try to push the limits.

Nice upgrade for smoker
I really like this power adapter. Itâs all one piece and waterproof, which is really nice. The OEM is not waterproof and has multiple connections where water could get in. I ran this on my Prime Daniel Boone for about 12 hours now.
