Good product built well
Well built device, lights aren’t a big deal to me but they are cool and do work. WD is a good trusted brand with a good warranty. 1TB isn’t a massive amount of space but I am using this as a portable jump drive to move large files around and it does that well. I wanted a fast jump drive that was well built this hits all the marks and is backed with a good warranty. Using USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with EXFAT and it’s pretty darn fast.

Great for Wii. Be forewarned that they are pre-initialized as GPT though.
So, why would I buy something this fast to connect to a device with USB 2.0 ports? Simple. They were on sale for $170. The Samsung EVOs and QVOs I usually buy were more expensive. The WD Blues were a little less, but not by nearly enough. Besides, these are SMALL. I can just throw them into a pants pocket and head to a friend’s house. And while I may not be using them to their full potential now, if my Wii bites the dust, I have no shortage of options (I would even be comfortable installing VR games on these). But why use SSDs on a Wii at all? Surely the difference between SSD and HDD is negligible, right? Maybe on paper. In the real world, the USB 2.0 bottleneck that’s supposed to nullify the difference between the two technologies somehow ends up amplifying it instead. I tried a 4 TB Passport with my Wii. To say that it was sluggish would be putting it nicely. When you test the difference with a spare SSD you have laying around and the two minute load times go away, it’s obviously time to switch. My only gripes are that these get a bit hot when transferring files (I pulled out a mag fan when the first one hit 140 F), and that they were initialized as GPT. For the love of science, WHY? GPT is only needed for drives over 2 TB. That almost got them returned. The RGB lights don’t come on when you connect them to a Wii, either. So, I thought WD had done something weird to make them incompatible with older devices (I wasn’t wrong, it just turns out that something is easily reversible). Fortunately it hit me to do a “get-disk|format-list” as I was packing them up. I saw “GPT” and it was facepalm time. Sure enough, after switching them to MBR, they work great.

Easy and compact
Great design. Super easy to use and set up is seamless. I got it for my PS5 and it works great. Fast upload/ download speeds. Pricey but itâs definitely super sleek and sturdy, plus itâs thin enough to fit in your pocket.

Amazon like new on a deal
I got this thing on a open box deal with Amazon. I decided to pull the trigger and wow, what a great drive. It is fast on my computer that has a 3.2 gen 2×2 port and the speeds are pretty crazy. I have a Thunderbolt 4 diy enclosure that preforms better but the price would steer me away. $250 for diy and 3000MB/s or $90 for 2000MB/s

This is a phenomenal SSD. The drive is incredibly fast and portable. Its rugged design means a case is optional, and I am not concerned about having this out with kids around. I have my entire PS4 library backed up on one of these SSDs that is shorter than a pop can and almost as thin as a BIC pen. The lights are customizable and there is an option for you to turn them off. I have purchased another as a portable storage device for audio interviews and video data. Its transfer speeds make it ideal for moving large files between devices.

I was so impressed that I bought another 2tb one as a backup in case I load up the current ssd it’s fast portable it dosent heat up to a point you can’t hold it files which are 5gb to 10gb download within 10 minutes but games which are above 50gb take a bit more time but it’s totally worth it I’m able to boot my games directly from the SSD with no headache at all no hanging no friction no bullshit perfect for gaming and the RGB LED light bar adds to the Beauty
