What a happy experience for me:1) Like everyone else, I upgraded my hard drive to SSD, and ended with a dark screen because I destroyed the previous display cable when trying to re-insert it. I kicked myself for being the stupidest idiot in the world, but when I looked up this product and saw the reviews, I was so relieved! I’m not alone!2) When the new cable arrived, I took extra care inserting it, and jumped for joy when the screen came back on!Taking the advice in the reviews, I inserted the cable into the socket on the main board first, and then lastly inserted it into the socket on the screen. Just be gentle with it. If it’s in correctly, it’ll fit very nicely and its edge will be flush with the socket edge.

I bought this to replace the video cable I damaged during a hard drive upgrade of my 2011 iMac 12,1. It worked perfectly. I would agree with the earlier poster that when installing you should install on the motherboard first and then the LCD. If you, as I, botched the first job, practice this installation order with the damaged cable to ensure you have it down before installing the new cable.

If you break that LCD cable in your mac. Don’t feel alone. I’ve broken three in ten years of Mac repair. They are one of the easiest pieces to BREAK. This replacement is a GOD SEND.

Worked once I installed correctly
I purchased this after I broke my stock cable’s connectors on the motherboard side when installing a new hard drive into my iMac. We did install it the wrong direction at first and received no video to the display. Just use the short end in the same configuration as your original cable and you’ll be fine. Installation is very trick though and I had to ask my wife to do it with her more precise and delicate fingers.

Perfect replacement for my I Mac 2011
I shattered this cable trying to upgrade my old SSD.This little replacement save my computer!My advice is to be very careful with this cable, first you have to unplugged from the LCD screen in order to avoid my mistake.
