offer a surprisingly accurate and balanced sound
The Yamaha RH1C headphones offer a surprisingly accurate and balanced sound for their price point. They excel in reproducing clear highs and mids, making them suitable for various applications like mixing, monitoring, and casual listening. While the bass response might not be as pronounced as some might prefer, it’s still adequate for most genres. The comfortable design and durable build quality add to their appeal. Overall, the RH1C is a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and affordable pair of headphones.

    The most underrated headphones IMHO
Prior or this Yamaha HPH MT5, I have and still used the Sony MDR 7506, Sennheiser HD 569, Audio-Technica ATH-M50X for hobby instrumental and vocal recordings. I tried each for every single task: keyboard, bass, vocal, mixing, music listening. They sound okay, but somehow I always feel something is missing. Once I used this MT5, all of the sudden everything is there, full, clear, present. Even Hans Stamer old tracks sound wonderful and more (from the previously missing sounds).I am not a pro, far from it, so I cannot explain what happened. Maybe the ear cups sealed better (but not tighter)? Maybe the sound reproduction is better? I have no idea. But this is the winner for fewer dollars (on sales now, even better).Anyhow, I watched Youtube’s Damir Franc reviews for both the MT5 and MT8 and got this MT5 since Franc stated it was more suitable for studio work. But now since this MT5 is really good for what it is designed for (?), I’m curios if the MT8 is good for music listening. Who knows. I’m not a pro, so nothing to lose lol.

Great Sound, Build Concerns: A Review of Yamaha HPH-MT5 Monitor Headphones
The Yamaha HPH-MT5 headphones have impressed me with their sound quality! They deliver crisp, balanced audio that’s perfect for music production, mixing, or just enjoying your favorite tunes. The closed-back design provides excellent noise isolation, allowing you to focus on your audio without distractions. What I Liked:Excellent Sound Quality: The audio is clear, well-balanced, and perfect for critical listening.Noise Isolation: The closed-back design effectively blocks out external noise.Comfort: The headphones are comfortable to wear for extended periods, thanks to the lightweight design and plush ear cups.A Note on Durability:While the sound quality is fantastic, I did have some concerns about the overall build quality. The headphones feel a bit lightweight and potentially susceptible to damage if mishandled. Thankfully, I purchased an extended warranty for peace of mind.Overall:Despite the slight concern about build quality, the HPH-MT5 headphones offer exceptional sound and noise isolation at a reasonable price point. For those who prioritize audio fidelity and comfort, these are a great option. However, if you require a particularly rugged pair of headphones for heavy-duty use, you might want to consider a sturdier model.Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

    customer of 5 years
I’ve bought these headphones probably three times in the last four years twice for myself and one as a gift because of how great they are. The qualities of these headphones are elite. Comfortable earpieces. Noticeable noise cancellation. And when I’m recording vocals the sound quality is always so crisp. These headphones are very durable. I would like to see a blue tooth version of these in the future. If they ever do come out with a Bluetooth version I would love to review them. Big found a Yamaha headphones and these right here are worth every penny . Compared to other brands the price for these Yamaha headphones are actually very good and economical for the quality because the quality is elite. Highly recommended I give these headphones five out of five stars.

Great sounding headphones that are really comfortable
I have yet to be disappointed with Yamaha products so far. This is the first time I have purchased headphones by them, but was expecting great things, since I have had good luck with their products in the past. I’m happy to say I was not disappointed. These headphones sound great. I can hear all the details of the music I’m listening to or the movies/TV shows I’m watching with great overall clarity. Definitely the best headphones I have owned to date. Plus, they’re really comfortable, so you can wear them for hours on end without any discomfort. Well worth every penny spent. If you’re looking for high quality headphones that are really comfortable, look no further.

Headphone 2.5 mm jack makes replacing the cord a pain in the butt
Mostly I don’t give these a higher rating because of the length of the cord. I wanted them to listen to music on long plane flights with my pod. The cord is a great length for studio and lying in front of a stereo, but it is way too long for walking through an airport. However, because it said the cord could be removed, I thought I could just replace it with a shorter cord from my Monster headphones. But, no, the jack on the headphones is not 3.5 mm but 2.5 mm. I had to do a major search to find a replacement cord and then spend another $20. If the headphone jack had been a 3.5 mm, I probably would have given these five stars out of the box. (I can’t attest to durability because I haven’t had them long enough.)

Truly an amazing experience. I think lot of sound engineers , musicians , arrangers underestimated the YAMAHA headphones as they don’t have that much of varieties . But according to my opinion they are very good for home recordings/Mixing compared to other expensive studio monitoring headphones. They do have little bit mids & highs strong than low end but not that bad also which can ruin your balance. Definitely recommend for those who don’t want to spend extra money but looking for decent product.

the pads are way to short I got the Brainwavz Angled Memory Foam Earpads way better fit and slightly more bass they do sound close back and lack that nice air quality but otherwise are good and flat in sound I did burn them in with white noise to flex to them a bit before and after are almost the same unlike others so it seems like yamaha has something nice and professorial here
