Swivel of ear pieces is poor for DJing but great for studio work
If you don’t want a spare ear piece pushing against your chin while DJing, these aren’t your headphones. If you want good sound for the studio withoout crackly trebble or distorted mids and bass, then these are great.

Overall 8/10 for these headphones. Only issue I have is low end frequency with them. They dont have the range I looked up before purchasing. Which ultimately, will lead me to purchase a different brand.

    Horrible Experience
I’ve written several reviews over the years but this one will go down as the worst customer experience ever. This headphone has wonderful sound, flat & crisp, & extremely accurate. That’s where it all ends. It creaks like crazy creating interference with the music itself. I called Yamaha customer service & was bounced around to at least 6 different departments none of which could help me. No one even knew that their company has headphones so I was completely sunk. The hinges attach to the earcups which is normal but the creaking sound isn’t. Amazon is great with taking product back so no worry there. I chose not to accept a replacement strictly based on Yamaha’s awful customer service & lack of knowledge & response. The one star is for the outstanding sound.

    Noisy
Poor construction. The body of the headphones squeak and can easily be heard even while listening to music. So long as you don’t move your head the sound quality is superb. Would have given these 5 starts if they weren’t so noisy.

Nice sound but pressure gives me headache..:(
I have the MT7 (white) and the sound quality is really good to me. But they give me a headache from the pressure. I cannot keep them on for extended periods of time. I really wish they were more comfortable for the price I paid. Ugh!

I used to have Beyerdynamic DT990 PRO, I still have DT770 pro and Sennheiser HD 280 pro. So far, they are the best headphones for mixing for me personally. They are not going to give you super colorful highs like 770s would, but they will give you very good mids, decent highs and quite deep and relatively neutral bass, and they will tell you where you’ve messed up in your mix or master. It’s not an audiophile option, but an option for a soon-to-be professional mixer that starts his journey for industry standard sound. As such an individual, I am sure they are worth their full price. If you just started your journey (like 2 months ago), don’t consider it YET. But if you have some sort of experience and know how plugins work and how to fix the issues here and there, consider these, I’m serious.

Coming from a more higher end pair of headphones. I was instantly disappointed with these. They don’t feel very high end, but they definitely look great. They squeak quite a bit when you move your head which I used some oil and it helped a little bit. Overall I’d say they are a little overpriced. As far as them being comparable to the NS10s, I’d say thats fairly accurate. They have enough bass to barely make electronic or hip-hop but where they shine is in the clarity. I wouldn’t say these headphones would last a very long time as I dropped them once on the first day and they scratched. If I could take them back I would spend another $150 and get some super great quality cans with nice deep punchy bass. These are by no means the worst and for the price of sub $200 they aren’t bad. I would say they sound more similar to the HS line of monitors. Having owned them. I can say that they do sound similar.
