The SIP-T46S IP phone is the ultimate communications tool for busy executives and professionals. In addition to offering better overall performance than the T46G, this device has a faster interface with a rich, high-resolution TFT color display. The SIP-T46S is also built with Gigabit Ethernet technology, for rapid call handling and use with accessories like a Bluetooth USB Dongle and a Wi-Fi USB Dongle. The new T4S series offers the same elegant appearance of the T4 line, but with improvements for greater interoperability and collaboration.

Supports expansion modules
Up to 16 SIP accounts

Yealink T46S – Great Sound, Many Features but Simple to Use
Purchased these phones to use with VirtualPBX, a better price here on Amazon.Programming was very simple because the provider has an auto-provision link. After provisioning, the provider’s configuration locked the phone, which prevented some basic customization such as settings for the power light, shared directory setup, web server interaction and many other advanced configuration options. We had an issue with the power light flashing after the phone went into the sleep mode, which was cured by a simple change to the “local” configuration file. Adding these settings to the local configuration stopped the annoying blinking:features.power_saving.power_led_flash.on_time = 0features.power_saving.power_led_flash.off_time = 100In order to add the settings, I had the provider “unlock” the phone, then saved the “local” configuration to a computer using the phone’s web interface, added the features lines above, and then reloaded the “local” configuration – problem solved. There are many custom settings accessible via the phone’s web interface, which must be enabled on the administration menu of the phone. This is a really flexible phone that is well-suited to add custom call accounting and shared directory features including web server based directories and LDAP directories. We live in an area that has poor cell connectivity, no land lines, and high latency Internet most of the time. We have tried microcells, computer soft phones, wifi calling on our cell phones, you name it. But, our internet connection is pretty good most of the time, business-grade. No matter what we tried phone calls were an exercise in frustration, with poor quality.Since we switched over to using these phones and a hosted PBX the call quality has been fantastic. Clear, quiet, solid. Good duplex without that delay and headache of two people talking over each other. Operation of the phone is simple, it just works. While the receiver is not the legacy / classic “handle” type that rests perfectly on the shoulder, it is definitely not bad at all. Many phones, especially cordless, have a receiver that is impossible to rest on the shoulder — not this one. Speakerphone and microphone work beautifully. No yelling required.I used a simple 48 volt POE injector and transformer (WS-POE-8-ENC purchased a while back on Amazon) to provide power over my Cat6 premise wiring with no issue.I did by a couple of the Yealink 5V adapters just in case, because they have a different jack than many other 5V connectors (larger). Given the cost of the 5V adapters and the messy extra cords, it would be cleaner, and about the same cost, to use a POE injector under the desk than to use the 5V adapter if the premises cannot add Power Over Ethernet wiring. The POE thing seems confusing at first – 48 volts vs. 5 volts, but the modern POE devices take what they need and regulate the power from the 48 volt supply – no issues. In this case, the phone takes 5VDC from the POE.If this phone has issues in less than three years, I will definitely update this review. Our old Panasonic phones and switch unit lasted twenty years — they still work. This phone is a decent value and suitable replacement so far to the old system. From what I read elsewhere, support might not be so great, so these phones are definitely “on probation” for a while yet to come, review subject to change downward. The “S” means that the phone is “Skype” enabled. I didn’t try Skype. The phone works just like the “G” or general model once provisioned.Starting with five stars due to value, ease of use, flexibility and excellent frustration-free call quality.

Very Happy with the Yealink Series T4x
This is a very good and well recommended VoIP phone which is setup for standard SIP accounts. I have a 3CX VoIP system and added this to my Cisco phones already in use. The display is great as well as overall design. Screen is very good, feature set is great, and if you need to tweek the provisioning their web admin for it is good. I do use Cat5/6 to connect most phones, but I was unhappy that WiFi is not built in like my OLD Cisco phones though. You have to get a WiFi dongle to plug into it for that.. and theirs is over priced (to put it mildly – hunt on here for more reasonable one not sold by Yealink). It also does not come with a power unit as it has POE power built in (which most installations use these days). So if you do not support POE, you need to buy a 5v 2A power unit that is compatible (again hunt on here).Little tip for 3CX system users. If you load in your own background images via the web admin of the phone, they will play in screen saver rotation so you are not stuck with just the one 3CX forces on us. (Image Size 480x272px with L&R margin of 120px to allow for soft key legends)

Also own T42S @ home office – great devices, (setup is subjective to each provider or setup tho)
As someone who is stuck selling AT&T 1070’s & vTech CM18445’s to analog customers, I’m in love with the ease-of-use & end user experience that the Yealink T4X series of phones offers.I own a T46S & T42S, run the same extensions @ 2x completely separate office locations, and the auto provisioning configuration with hosted VOIP providers was a breeze for me and my clients. They’re solid phones – Ive installed about 10x of them for about half a dozen SMB clients in the last six months. Two local MSPs I regularly work with have different opinions on their longevity and RMA rates, but even they agree that most of the software & builds are solid.Haven’t experienced issues with the hardware itself – only thing I would like to mention is that I tried migrating an 7 year old Wireless DECT Plantronics headset that I was using on an old Avaya phone & it wasn’t compatible – it’s about time I got a new one anyway.

Great IP Phone for IP Based PBX
Great IP Phone! We ended up settling on the 48S and 40P for our executive and employee phones, but had this one for testing and have it connected to two 3CX switches. Easily customization, AMAZING audio, works great with PoE or the wall brick (not included), and wired or WiFi (dongle required). I haven’t tried the bluetooth dongle. Buttons have a great feel, display is easy to read. Would highly recommend.

    Worked perfectly with FreePBX
Got it for my home VoIP system and it works flawlessly with tons of features. It is setup as part of a ring group with BLF keys for various voicemails. IPv6 configured with TLS. Very good quality.

phone device missing components for proper set up. need to get power supply separately. i think is like buying a car with no wheels. can’t review the audio because I can’t use the phone **update 10/28/2020** 1 out of the 3 phones i got stop working. the phone just dies while on a call. i tried a different power supply but i looks like the phone itself doesn’t work anymore. I am running this phone and some cheaper ones on FreePBX system. I paired this phone with a plantronix headset. Sound and phone work great.

I use this handset for my business and can’t stop telling everyone about it. It’s great value and helps me work the way I want to. Looks great on the desk, and has every business communication feature you could ever need.

This is an okay IP phone but I’m really not overly impressed with it. It’s fairly large but also feels inexpensive as it’s basically hollow plastic. the handset is also Halo and feels extremely light compared to my Polycom phones. The other thing that I didn’t like is that when you add line keys to it they are very small, less than 1 inch wide even though the screen is much bigger. They could have shown a full name of a person with their extension as the line key but instead they crop it off so that the wallpaper is visible wasting all that large display.
