Tony Mowbray will take cost of West Brom for the second time after being appointed head coach on a two-and-a-half-year contract. Mowbray replaces Carlos Corberán, who left the Hawthorns in December to take up the function of supervisor at Valencia.
The 61-year-old steered Albion to the Championship title in 2008 and spent three years on the Midlands membership till 2009. Since leaving the Baggies, Mowbray has managed Celtic, Middlesbrough, Coventry, Blackburn, Sunderland and Birmingham.
“Tony has a wealth of expertise throughout British soccer and shares our imaginative and prescient for the soccer membership,” the chairman, Shilen Patel, mentioned. “He actually cares about bringing one of the best out of gamers and instils willpower and dedication in his groups.
“I’m thrilled he’s our new head coach and we’re excited to welcome him again to put in writing a brand new chapter in his Baggies story along with his unwavering need to compete and win.”
West Brom sit seventh within the Championship, only one level off the playoffs. Mowbray’s first match on the helm can be Tuesday’s journey to Middlesbrough with Chris Brunt within the dugout towards Stoke on Saturday.
